Sandwich Notch Park

In August 2012, OBP worked at the base of the popular Beede Falls on a stream bank restoration and trail improvement project in Sandwich, NH. The area was being loved to death by visitors and the erosion caused by human traffic was accelerated by high flow water events. The OBP crew installed an engineered tree revetment or "log jam" structure to quell erosion on the bank and keep people from trampling the sensative vegetation.  A 32' steel and timber bridge was constructed, stone steps were built to the water, locust fences and stone benches were installed to limit visitors impacts to certain areas.
